Bird Species: Important breeding area for little bittern – küçük balaban (50 pairs), night heron  gece balikçili (200 pairs), squacco heron – alaca balikcil (300 pairs), purple heron – erguvani balikçil (100 pairs), glossy ibis – çeltikçi (100 pairs), spoonbill – kasikçi (40 pairs), collared pratincole – bataklik kirlangici (200 pairs), little tern – küçük sumru (200 pairs) and whiskered tern – biyikli sumru (500 pairs). A huge number of water birds winter here (max. 48.440) including pygmy cormorant – küçük karabatak (max. 1450), dalmatian pelican – tepeli pelikan (max. 291), mute swan – kugu (max. 2030), whooper swan – ötücü kugu (max. 214) and red-crested pochard – elmabas patka (max. 15.528).
